An assertive presence on a dramatically trapezoidal site which not only established a separate identity to the main business adjacent, but also projecting a dynamic sense of quality.

Although developed on three levels, the first floor maximises the floorspace to cantilever dramatically out towards the street. Its strong presence in the otherwise drab streetscape is reinforced further through bold forms, rich textures, colours and finishes, together with the emphatic way the blade wall extends the first floor cantilever out over the footpath.

With the daring combination of both minimal and the organic in the entry, foyer and vertical circulation areas - and a subtle nod towards art deco - the design created a welcoming presence for visitors and successfully conveyed a concern for the highest quality.
