This alteration and addition to a run down post war home in Yarraville had its challenges. It was dark, orientated incorrectly and had no connection with the outside world. The brief was to convert the building into a light and airy family home with a merging of the inside and outside worlds. The solution was to flip the current program of the building and add a double sawtooth extention to the rear, one internal and one external. This sawtooth allowed access to the north sun whilst orientation the physical connection to the southern yard. the deck was pulled into the second of the sawtooth bays to allow for a covered area that could be occupied 365 days of the year.
