FAIRHAVEN

Located on a steep site on the Victorian Surf Coast, Fairhaven Residence overlooks the local surf club and enjoys extensive ocean views. This project presented a numbers of challenges, with significant planning controls and a client brief which asked for low to no maintenance and a residence that could cater for 3 generations, private and discrete from the street which upon entering opens up to take full advantage of its coastal setting.

The architectural solution created 4 distinct levels, with their own views to the ocean and connection with the site. Ground level with entry and garage with parent retreat, master bedroom, ensuite, balcony + endless spa on the level above.. A lower ground level with Kitchen, dining, family and lounge with sliding away doors which open to a large cantilevered entertainment balcony over a basement including 2 bedrooms with ensuites, large bedroom/bunk room, laundry/drying room and a second lounge with kitchenette which opens out to landscaped area and fire pit.

The key building components are insulated precast concrete wall panels, polished concrete floors and ceilings on the lower ground levels, oversized glass sliding doors and marine grade metal cladding to the upper floors.
