NETTLE STREET RESIDENCE

Located close to the centre of Bendigo. The 490-square-metre block was modest in size but rich with potential.

The brief was for a contemporary, clean aesthetic from the street. Private yet open, with large expanses of glass and a natural material palette. The result a single-level home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. An open-plan kitchen, dining and living area flows to a north-facing alfresco.

The house features Krause emperor bricks, longer and thinner than standard, in a light natural tone that delivers both elegance and practicality. Privacy along the frontage was enhanced with the brick battening to allow light and breeze while diffusing views. The use of Blackbutt timber flooring and joinery brings warmth into the home, while soft neutral paint tones create a calm and inviting environment.
